Marie Ross Travis was born on December 7, 1927, in Stephenville, Texas, to James Miller Sagesar and Gladys Hattie Sagesar. She married Lloyd Rex Travis, Jr. on January 12, 1951, in Stephenville, Texas. Marie was a member of the Houston Petroleum Auxiliary Club. Her passion was animals, especially her miniature Dachshund, Cody. Marie loved playing bridge with her bridge club and loved entertaining, but her real love was taking care of her family and grandchildren.

Marie passed away in a Katy hospital on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the age of 82 years.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lloyd Rex Travis, Jr.; daughter, Pamela and her husband Buell Anderson; grandchildren, Teri and her husband Todd Gay, David Anderson, and Amy and her husband Larry Parker; three great grandchildren, Wesley Gay, Tiffany Flanagan, and Allyson Flanagan; one great grandchild on the way; brother, Bill & Carolyn Ross; 5 nieces; and one nephew.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the West End Cemetery, in Stephenville, Texas, with Rev. Bill Grisham officiating. Local arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
