Memorial services for Robert McBride, 76, owner of Taylor Rental, who died August 12, 2013, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating.

Robert was born in Dallas, Texas on November 29, 1936, to Clifford and Allie (Halbert) McBride. He married Frances Keener on July 27, 1970, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Robert graduated high school from Santa Inez High in Santa Inez, California. He then was drafted into the Army and stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, as a SPEC 4. After he was discharged, he was employed by General Dynamics of Fort Worth for many years. During this time, he was going to DeVry institute, but graduated at UT of Arlington with a Bachelor's degree in business. After graduation, he worked as Assistant Manager at Thyrotech in Irving. He worked there until moving to Stephenville and owning Taylor Rental Center in 1977 with his family. His children are both graduates of Stephenville High School. Taylor Rental was closed in 1987 where after he worked at various jobs until his retirement in 2003.

He was a devoted and loving husband and father. Loved his family dearly, but was also a bit of a loner. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and looked forward to every game. He loved to fly, got his pilot's license and owned a Cessna 150 called "Blue Bird." He and Frances were married for forty-three years.

He was a member of The Chamber of Commerce and Stephenville Airport Board of Directors while having Taylor Rental.

Survivors include his wife, Francis McBride of Stephenville, TX; daughter, Melissa Hennigan and husband, David, of Woodville, TX; son, Clifford Charles McBride of Waco, TX; loving foster daughter, Theresa Donnaher Stone of Seattle, Washington; sister, Linda Fisher and husband, Glen, of Sonora, TX; brother, Patrick McBride of Guadalajara, Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
