Stephenville - Services for David Peaton, 96, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Don Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Lowell Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home.

David was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on June 28, 1920, to Sally Beatrice (Cooper) and Crockett Peaton.  He married Eunice Ophie (Fowler) on March 27, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1960.

He was a member of the Lingleville Church of Christ.

He also served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors include his children, David Peaton and wife, Bonnie, of San Angelo, Texas, and Darrell Peaton of Stephenville, Texas; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Howard Mitchell of Lingleville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Mitchell, on March 9, 2013, great-grandson, Ronald Christopher Peaton, in 2000, and great-granddaughter, McKenna Grace Peaton, in 2001.
