Dear Father Eugene,
Thank you so much for your post. My father truly treasured your friendship and the time he spent with you. He was so excited to learn that you were finally coming to the United States for a visit. He enjoyed showing you the sights of Granbury and Fort Worth. He is greatly missed but is now in heaven with my mother.
Love,

To the Young and Bratton Families, my deepest sympathy to you all on the loss of your beloved father, father in law and grandfather. I was very blessed to stay with Uncle George, Aunty Celina and Leonnard on a trip to Brownsville at Christmas time. I felt such love and welcome immediately by the the both of them. They took us to Cancun to stay in their condo and Uncle George made the long car trip so that we could witness a bit more of Mexico and especially Chichinitza. I will forever remember this great time. Uncle George was a true gentleman and lived his life well. God bless him as he now reunites with his 'Celina. Love to you all Desiree, Perth Western Australia.

Dear Desiree,
Thanks for your message and candle. Your thoughtfulness during this time means a lot to us. Dad lived a wonderful life in Texas and with hard work, determination and faith he accomplished the "American Dream". We miss him very much and miss hearing him say "Well, what is the plan for today?" Always ready to do something.
He is in heaven with God, my mother and all his relatives and friends.
Love,
Bratton Family

George was a dear family friend and a brother to me. His Mother and ours came from the same town in Mergui (southern Myanmar). George grew up with my brothers and sisters. When he married Celina we all lived in a town called Thingangyun those were the happy days which George & Celina always go down memory lane. The man with a big heart and always with a smile. Loves cooking and eating Burmese food. We will miss him. RIP George.

Thank you Pat and Eardley for the lit candle and your message. You have been part of our family for a very long time. Our father truly treasured your friendship and was always excited to vacation with you. Looking through some old pictures of when we were all in England brought happy tears to my eyes. I personally miss hearing him say "Do you have anything planned for today?" Always ready to go.
We will miss him greatly.

We’re thinking of Glenda and the whole Young family with deepest sympathy.

In 1991 we enjoyed George and Celina’s warmhearted hospitality in Brownsville. This was the beginning of international understanding and a lifelong wonderful friendship with pleasant memories. First AirMails, then Emails, tapes, videos, DVDs in both directions.

Years later, 2006, we could express our gratitude when George, his son Leonard, daughter Glenda, her husband Stan, granddaughters Kimberly and Aimee visited us in Bavaria.

From the end of October 2008, we again spent 5 weeks in the Beech Tower, diagonally opposite the landmark El Cortez. Then we forever left San Diego; said goodbye to Abe Trop in Bakersfield/CA, a retired professor/WWII and D-Day veteran we knew since 1987. He passed away 2012.

Next stop in Las Cruces/NM to Cal, we knew him since 1991 and made twice use of his second home in Ruidoso. Cal Traylor passed away 2015. Age 89.

We continued to George and son Leonard in Galveston/TX, enjoyed their hospitality again for a week and then to Glenda and her family in Bedford for another week. Thanks for such a great friendship.

Our destination Venice/FL we reached immediately before Christmas and luckily we found a nice single family house on a lake we rented for 15 months and spent two winters there. After less than 2 weeks stay in Venice we’ve got a message, our San Diego friend Bob, WWII veteran, passed away 4 days after his 87. Birthday. He and his wife Gladys already had their flight ticket to Frankfurt and us on May 13, 2009. Gladys visited us later, in 2013.

Due to our age we no longer spent winters in the USA but with pleasure we still welcome the Young/Bratton family in our Bavarian home.

Our thoughts are with you, God bless you.

Love, Manfred and Roswitha
