Gilbert “Gil” John Ayers, Sr.

January 29, 1943 – February 6, 2017

Stephenville - Services for Gilbert J. Ayers, Sr. 74, a Truck Driver, will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ed Dittfurth officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gustine. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Gilbert was born in San Pedro, CA on January 29, 1943 to Hilbert and Mary Alice Ayers.  He married Janice Williams on June 17, 1962 in Downey, CA. He was a member of Cornerstone First Assembly Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice of Stephenville; children, Gil Ayers, Jr. and wife Susan of Fort Worth; Dawna Ayers; Theresa Chipman and husband Louis of Stephenville; Kody Ayers of Stephenville; grandchildren, Chris Ayers, Ashley Ayers, Randi Basham, Rachael Boyce and husband Dustin, Cheyane Basham, Skylar Chipman, Payson Chipman, J.P. Lewis, Kody Lewis and Taylor Doss; brothers, William Ayers and wife Leslie of Arizona; John Ayers and wife Melanie of Anaheim, CA; eleven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert Marcoot.
