Jo Butler

Memorial Services for Jo Butler, 86, a retired teacher, will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Stephenville, Texas, with Rev. Charles Somerville officiating. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Jo was born in McDade, Texas, on December 19, 1931, to Tryron J. and Fayth (Hodge) Branton. She married Luther D. Butler, Sr., on August 13, 1957, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Association of University Women, and the Zonta Club. She taught school in Acoma, New Mexico, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Austin, Texas. She tutored at the Foster Home for fifteen years and was a missionary with the Baptist Home Mission Board.

Survivors include her husband, Luther D. Butler, Sr., of Stephenville, Texas; her son, Luther D. Butler, Jr., and wife, Yanjie Zhang; and grandson, Jacob Wang; and numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Anita Jandreau and her children.
