Stephenville - Graveside services for John Henderson, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at East End Cemetery in Lingleville, Texas with Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

John was born in Rochelle, Texas on December 25, 1937 to Pauline and Robert Henderson.

He married Carol Beth Huffman on February 16, 1957. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2015.

John and Carol grew up in Lingleville and were very active in the Lingleville Homecoming. Early in their marriage, work took them to West Texas where they lived in McCamey. John worked for Baker Oil Tools for over thirty-two years. After taking an early medical retirement, they returned to Stephenville where they both enjoyed being near lifelong friends and family.  

Survivors include his children, Karen Perry and husband, Allen of Stephenville, Texas and Kent Henderson and wife, Melinda of Hendersonville, Tennessee; brothers, Joe Henderson of Weatherford, Texas, Jerry “Dump” Henderson of Stephenville, Texas, and Gary Henderson of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Kristi Perry Ward and husband, David of Bartonville, Texas, Ashley Perry of Nacogdoches, Texas, Travis Perry of Odessa, Texas, Jodie Beth Henderson and Hannah Joy Henderson both of Hendersonville, Tennessee; great-grandsons, Jacob Aaron Ward and Luke Dawson Ward of Bartonville, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Rob Henderson.
