Stephenville - Services for Joy Lackey, 87, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell White officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Lacy Funeral Home.

Joy was born in Corpus Christi on October 26, 1929 to Naomi Lucille (Toler) and Talmadge Garland Barbee. She married Francis E. “Poss” Lackey on December 24, 1947, in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1991.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Stephenville.

She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 801.

Survivors include her children, Michael D. Lackey and wife, Sandra of Stephenville, and Sharon K. Johnson and husband, Scott of Stephenville; grandchildren, Colton T. Johnson of Stephenville, Michael E. Lackey of New York, and Brandy N. Lackey Still of Stephenville; four great-grandchildren; as well as several other extended family members.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughter, Sherry Lynn Lackey.                     

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK or to the local Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 801 in Stephenville.
