Footprints
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord….Across the sky flashed scenes from my life and for each scene I noticed two sets of footprints.
One set belongs to me – the other to the Lord. But I also noticed that many times during my life there was only one set of footprints, and it always happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. I couldn’t understand this, and so I questioned the Lord about it:
“Lord, You said You would walk with me all through my life, but I see that during the hardest and saddest times I’ve had, there is only one set of footprints. How could you leave me when I needed you the most?”
The Lord replies, “My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you during your times of grief and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.” -unknown author
