Cathy Pullen Wittie, 59, loving wife, mother, and friend passed into heaven on Wednesday May 17, 2017 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Cathy’s wishes were to be cremated with her remains returned to Nebraska. A private, family service will be scheduled sometime this summer. In lieu of flowers, those wanting to honor Cathy’s life and contributions may make a book donation in her name to the Central Elementary Library in Stephenville, Texas or donate to a favorite charity.

Cathy was born in North Platte, Nebraska on October 10, 1957 to Edward and Delores Pullen.  She earned her BS and MS in early childhood education from the University of Nebraska. She married Roger Wittie on September 22, 1984, in North Platte.  Cathy spent over 30 years as an elementary teacher in Nebraska, New Mexico, and Texas. She retired from teaching December 2015. She was an avid and excellent cook, enjoyed her gardens, loved to read, and cherished time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Roger Wittie of Stephenville, TX; mother, Delores Bjerrum Pullen of Mission, TX; children, Casey, Jared, and Dayla Wittie of Austin, TX; sister Pam Anthony and husband, Russ of Fort Collins, CO, brother Marty Pullen and wife, Margaret of North Platte, Nebraska, and sister Mary Ann Nielsen and husband, Scott of Grand Island, Nebraska.
