Graveside Services for Charles Frederick Carithers, 96, geologist & farmer, will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 18, 2019, at the Hico Cemetery, Hico, Texas, with Pastor Brent Jones officiating.

Charles was born in Thurber, Texas, on April 15, 1923, to Arthur E. and Dora Floyd (Hamilton) Carithers. He married Wanda June Williams on August 2, 1974, in Stephenville, Texas. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2005.

He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Slocumb and husband, Gerry; stepdaughter, Angie Moore and husband, Clayton; stepson, Tony Hemphill and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Aaron Moore, Becky Stanley, Brandon Hemphill, Kim Woodling, Lane Hemphill, Kayla Hemphill, Gary Tamez and his wife, Edalia, and Matt Tamez; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Carithers, and stepdaughter, Lori Decker.
