Stephenville – Memorial Services for Daniel Leo Chester, 74, retired purchasing manager for Appleton Electric, who died Sunday, May 14, 2017, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Father Matthew Sanka officiating. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Daniel was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on October 23, 1942, to Ralph Eugene and Elizabeth Ann (Noonan) Chester. He married Carole Sue Gunder on May 22, 1965, in Valparaiso, Indiana.

He was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 4th degree #2958, Valparaiso Elks Club, and the Valparaiso American Legion. He was a Navy veteran serving from April 1, 1963, to April 1, 1969.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Sue Chester of Stephenville, TX; his children, Cheryl Mauer and husband David, of Valparaiso, IN, and Caryn Wilkinson of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Kenneth Mauer, Abigail Wilkinson, and Aiden Wilkinson; siblings, Ralph E. Chester, Jr., (Barb Orosz) of Valparaiso, IN, James W. Chester and wife, Oleta of Valparaiso, IN, and Patricia A. Ames and husband, Dillar of Francesville, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
