Larissa LeeAnn Smith

Larissa LeeAnn Smith of Jonesboro, age 46, passed away January 2, 2019, in Gatesville. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church in Hamilton.

Larissa was born on July 14, 1972, in Wheatridge, Colorado, to Freddy Jack and Sharon Ann Lee Smith. She graduated from Fabens High School and earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Hardin Simmons University. She was a social worker in skilled nursing facilities for most of her career, including at Dove Hill in Hamilton for 10 years and most recently at The Meadows at Coryell Health in Gatesville for 4 years. She said her biggest joy and knowledge came from working with the elderly and hearing their wisdom.

Larissa was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brothers, James “Larry” Smith and wife Diane, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Tobin Smith of Jonesboro; nieces, Sharon and Morgan Smith of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many friends, residents, and her church family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coryell Health, The American Cancer Society, or the Salvation Army.
