Memorial services for Thelma D. Walker, known as Darlene, 84, homemaker, will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham officiating.

Thelma Darlene Walker was born in Wabaunsee County, Kansas on September 9, 1933 to David and Lanora (Miller) Eastman.  She met Red Walker in Indiana in 1951 while he was working in her father’s saw mill. They both moved back to Texas and were married on March 31, 1952, in Erath County. They had two daughters, Nora Lee Walker and Ruth (Walker) Cox.

Thelma worked on the farm and raised their two daughters, and worked in the Dublin sewing room. Then she worked along side her husband in a water well business, and later in a sale barn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Nora Eastman; husband, Bob Red Walker (1982); daughter, Nora Walker; son in law, Zach Cox; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Cox of Hico, Texas; grandson, Howard and wife Tracy Cox of Hamilton, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
