Ben T. Baty, 93, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, in Stephenville, TX. Services for Ben will be on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow to Victor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel.
Ben was born in Hillsboro, TX on July 4, 1931, to his parents Milton E. Baty and Tommie Lou (Hicks) Baty. He married Marjorie Nell (Smith) Baty on December 22, 1950, at the First Baptist Church in Stephenville, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, and he served as a Deacon for many churches.
He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He attended John Tarleton Agricultural College and completed his degree at Texas A&M University. He was a very proud Aggie! Ben became an influential marketing executive for Shell Oil Company. He loved spending time with his family and traveling, especially at the lake. He enjoyed history, photography, and loved hosting parties.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Nell (Smith) Baty; Children, Valerie Jean Schmid and husband John David of Stephenville, TX, and Brent Thomas Baty and wife Rachel A. of Celina, TX; Grandchildren, Lindsey Marstaller, Paige Folk, Doug Schmid, Brennan Baty, and Isabel Baty; Great grandchildren, Corie Marstaller, Evelyn Marstaller, Brooklyn Marstaller, Wendolyn Marstaller, Wesley Folk, Violet Folk, C.R. Folk, Julia Schmid, Derek Schmid, and Lillian Schmid; Sister, Betty Arrell of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Tommie Gwendolyn Baty.
