Bonnie Lou (Boren) Prater, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in Stephenville, Texas. A private memorial service for Bonnie will be held at a later date.
Bonnie was born in Auburn, Indiana, on September 19, 1946, to her parents Cletus Boren and Madeline “Jean” (Fulton) Boren. She married Gerald Prater on September 30, 1966, in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1983. Bonnie served in the USMC from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam war. She was Baptist, and retired as a machine operator. She enjoyed baking and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie “BJ” (Prater) Wood and husband James of Stephenville, Texas, and son, Mike Prater of Stephenville, TX; Five Siblings, Donna Hayes, Jeanine Newmyer, Connie Collins, Sandy Kammerer, and Linda Husted; grandchildren, Shelby, Peyton, Kailey, Kameron, and Haiden; Four Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents.
