Charles Matthew “Matt” Dawson, 66, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Greenville, Texas. A graveside service for Matt will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Weldon Branham officiating. A visitation for Matt will be held from 12:30-1:30 P.M., Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Lacy Funeral Home chapel.

Matt was born in Lubbock, Texas, on May 15, 1958, to his parents Charles Dawson and Kathrine Hightower.

Matt loved watching the Dallas Cowboys play football and watching old western movies. He enjoyed doing mathematics, going on car rides, and traveling.

He is survived by his siblings, Kathy Gaylene McKay, Trisha Lowry, Sherry Dawson, Amanda Worley and husband Shane; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Charles Dawson and Kathrine Hightower, and brother Roger Long.
