Services for Clifton Jack Thompson, 86, a welder, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Clifton Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Jack was born in Perkins, Oklahoma, on August 31,1935, to Alvy Walter and Lovey Ellen (Whitham) Thompson. He married Wanda Maribell Todd on April 22, 1953, in Cortez, Colorado. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2013.
He was the preacher at Church of the First Born in Dublin, Texas. He has been preaching since he was 16 years old. He was very involved in his church. Jack was a self-employed contractor since 1978.
Survivors include his children, Greg & Melissa Thompson of Stephenville, Texas, and Susie & Jim Creech of Dublin, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; his brother, Carl Thompson; and his church family. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Evelyn Fowler who died on October 10, 1997, and seven siblings.
