Dewey Wayne Bates

Dewey Wayne Bates, 67, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed from this life into our Savior’s hands on Monday evening, November 23, 2020.  He was born on Friday, February 27, 1953 in Dublin, Texas to Father Richard Austin Bates and Mother Ina Lu Bolling Bates.  Dewey was preceded in death by his Father Richard and his Mother Ina, his older brother William Austin Bates, his little sister Linda Lou Bates and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years Janis Aleatha Bates, son Jason Bates and his wife Stephanie Marie Bates and their children Noah Riley Bates and Naomi Isabella Bates, son Jonathan Noël Bates and his wife Amabely Carrillo Bates and son Joel Jacob Dewayne Bates.  He is also survived by his older brother Truman Richard Bates, younger brother Terry Lee Bates, Terry’s children Catherine Suzanne Bates and Christopher Alexander Bates, Cathy’s son Tyler Scott Kempton and Christopher’s son Christopher Alexander Bates, Junior.

A private family viewing and visitation for Dewey is going to be at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with Graveside service at 2:00 P.M. at East Memorial Cemetery.
