Services for Dorothy Jean (Earp) Evans, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2026, at Lacy Funeral Home with Dr. Ken May officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Mill Cemetery.
Dorothy was born in San Angelo, Texas, on October 27, 1931, to Ben Louis and Dovie Maud (Henderson) Earp. She married Jim Evans on August 12, 1949, in Morgan Mill, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2022.
Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Stephenville, Texas, The Red Hat Steppers, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved working crossword puzzles, searching for recipes to try, garage sales, researching family genealogy, watching doctors talk on YouTube, reading about medical conditions while taking notes, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Don Evans of Bluff Dale, Texas; grandchildren, Desiree McCalpin, Courtney Perrin, Melanie Salge, and Tiffany Mekeres; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Raeleigh, and Lillian McCalpin; Alexa, Makayla, and Caleb Salge; and Evan, Adeline, and Tristan Mekeres; along with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Evans; daughter, Cathy Perrin; sister, Ethel Montgomery; and brother, Milburn Earp.
