Earleen Yvette Nixon Skero, age 79, entered her eternal rest on January 16, 2024. Her wishes were to be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Earleen was born on October 8, 1944, to parents Earl and Priscilla Kaye. She married her first love, Milton Nixon on June 10, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1998. Earleen went on to find love again and married Albert “Al” Skero on October 9, 2004. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2022.
Earleen loved expanding and educating the minds of young people, working as a school teacher. Earleen was also a proud member of the Republican party. She was a Baptist. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and playing games. Her favorite activity though was time spent with her grandkids.
Survivors include her daughter, Autumn Back and husband, Daryl of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Colton Back and wife, Jacey of Burleson, Texas; and Remington Back of Stephenville, Texas; brother, Lyle Kaye and wife, Shirley of Victoria, Texas; and nieces and nephews, Amber Schultz; Michael Kaye; James King; Jody King; Jay King; and Jeanine Murray.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Nixon; and her second husband, Albert “Al” Skero.
Memorials may be made to the Erath County Humane Society, 891 East Rd, Stephenville, TX 76401.
