It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Forrest Wayne Simmons, 85, of Morgan Mill, TX. He died on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Forrest was born on December 11, 1940 in Durant, Oklahoma to George Simmons and Christine (Davis) Simmons. He grew up in Childress, TX and became involved with the Boy Scouts of America before achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. When he was a little older he opened and owned a service station in his hometown. Later in life Forrest got a job as a machinist in Houston, TX, he packed up his son Wayne and moved them to Humble, TX
He met his wife, Connie (Boase) Simmons in Humble, Tx, and married on December 27, 1985, in Claremore, OK. Connie and Forrest had two young boys and did not want to raise them in the city, so in 1992 they moved from Humble, TX to Morgan Mill, TX where they created a beautiful and meaningful life together while raising their children in a small, quiet, country town. While living in Morgan Mill, Forrest worked at FMC in Stephenville before finally retiring.
Forrest is survived by his wife, Connie Simmons, his 3 sons: Wayne Simmons and wife Michelle, Shane Simmons and wife Ashley, and Doug Simmons and wife Tamara, 7 grandchildren: Corey, Kyle, Stellina, William, Natalia, Wyatt, and Amelia; and 1 great-grandchild, Lillian.
He was preceded in death by 3 of his children and his siblings: Frances Simmons, Dewey Simmons, and Roberta Swatosh.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
