Foster "Andy" Anderson, 82, died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. We often teased him that he was a cat with 9 lives going on life 14, but in the end it was a combination of multiple health issues and a long lived life that was the cause of death.
Andy was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kaye S. Anderson. He is survived by his son, Steve Anderson and wife, Cindy Talley Anderson, of Clifton, Texas, son, Gregg Anderson of London, England, daughter, Amy Anderson Myers and husband, Kevin Myers, of China Spring, Texas; grandson, Cooper Anderson of Clifton, Texas, and grandson, Riley Myers of China Spring, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog "Pi." Andy is also survived by a multitude of life-long friends who made his later life so much better. Before moving to be closer to his family in January, Andy lived in Stephenville for 45 years.
Andy was born in Coleman County, Texas, on July 13, 1942, and was a 1960 Graduate of Coleman High School, afterwards attending John Tarleton Agriculture College. He married Kaye Stewart on June 28, 1963. He and his family moved to Stephenville in 1977. He was retired from the FMC corporation in Stephenville after 26 years of service. While employed at FMC corporation, Andy owned and operated Andy’s Cabinet Shop for many years. Andy was very active in the community being a member of the Kiwanis Club and attended his weekly Tuesday Morning Coffee Club religiously. Along life's journey, he was a baseball coach, a soccer coach, an FFA Dad, and a Band Parent. He was always very active in his children's lives. He was kind, funny, generous, and loved to laugh. He was a wonderful father, a faithful husband, a loyal friend, and the world was a better place when he was around.
Andy will be buried next to his wife Kaye at a Graveside Service at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Thursday, September 19th, at 10 am. The family will be available for visiting before and after the service. A Celebration of Life will follow in the coming months. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to your local animal shelter.
