Francisco "Frank" Macias Soto

Francisco “Frank” Macias Soto, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday August 30, 2021, in Stephenville, Texas.

Frank was born in Stamford, Texas on July 24th, 1944, to Pete Soto and Benita Macias.  He spent most of his younger years in West Texas, growing up in Sagerton. He worked various jobs, but ultimately found his expertise in landscaping where he worked planting trees for over 30 years.  After retiring from having his own business he worked as a maintenance worker at Stephenville ISD where he continued his passion in landscaping. He loved all things Western; from John Wayne to Bonanza and loved collecting all western memorabilia. On any given Saturday you could find him either listening or dancing to Tejano or country music-Freddy Fender was definitely one of his favorites. 

He was a beloved Husband of 38 years to Maria Gonzales Soto.  A loving father to 7 children, Dora Soto, Frank Soto, Jr., Frances Alvar, Herman Soto, Johnny Soto, Brenda Medrano and Virginia Costilla.  In addition, to his children he parented 4 stepchildren, Oscar Gutierrez, Irma Danner, Christine Atchley, and Monica Diaz. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Soto, his mother, Benita Macias Barrientos, brothers Pete Soto, Jr. and Fred Soto, sisters Florenda Soto Hidrago, Marcelina Zuniga and Francis Perez and his son Herman Soto.  He is survived by his wife, Maria Gonzales Soto, his sisters Minnie Cantu, Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez and Nellie Cantu, his brothers Jack Barrientos and Tony Barrientos, his children, grandchildren and many loved great grandchildren. 

Memorial Services will be held at Lacy Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday September 2, 2021, at 11am with viewing Wednesday September 1, 2021, from 5pm-7pm.  Interment will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford, Texas.
