Fred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin, Texas.

Fred is survived by his children, Tommie Necessary, and husband Keith, of Jonesboro, Texas, Scott Massingill, and wife Faith, of Hamilton, Texas, and Crystal Massingill, of Hamilton, Texas; life partner, Lela Couch, of Carlton, Texas; stepchildren, Michelle Eddleman, of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Miranda Jensen, of Lake Jackson, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and siblings, Blane Massingill, of Comanche, Texas, and Elaine Massingill Heald, of Hillsboro, Texas.
