Harvey Gerald Parker

Services for Harvey G. Parker of Stephenville, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery in Goldthwaite, Texas. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Harvey passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Stephenville, Texas. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Harvey was born in Faribault County, Minnesota, on May 5, 1934, to Guy Olson and Myrtle Jane Schaeffer. He married Dorothy Jean Cline on June 6, 1954, in Goldthwaite, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2010.

Harvey owned and operated A & H Lumber Company in Goldthwaite, Texas. Harvey managed Bowie’s Lumber Company in Brownwood, Texas, for many years and in 1985 became manager of Barnes & McCullough Lumber of Stephenville, Texas. He became a true artisan and enjoyed creating various items out of wood. Throughout his life Harvey served his fellow man as member of the United States Army, as a Mason, Gideon, and disciple maker. He was a member, Deacon, a Sunday School teacher for many years teaching all ages from youth to adults, and Church Treasurer of Harvey Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Kerri Weathers & husband, Carey of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter, Tayler Weathers of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Wayne Parker and wife, Jeannette, of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Bobby Lowe and husband, Louis Lowe, III, of Wimberly, Texas; and special friend, Helen “Yankee” Thompson of Stephenville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his son, Kennon Parker, granddaughter, Hailey Baggett, and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Jean Baggett.
