Houston was a Heavy Equipment operator in the construction industry. He retired from J Mills Construction after over 20 years of hard work and dedication. He made many long-lasting friendships during his time there.

He is survived by his daughter, Sabrena Rushing and her husband, Chad, of Brady, TX, his grandchildren, Hali Tipton, Raelyn Graff and Miles Rushing, all of Brady, TX, his great-grandson Owen Tipton, his brother, Jim Kennedy and his wife, Meg, of Eastland, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Mary Lou and a brother, Joe Kennedy.
Houston will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
