James Ollie Bradford (91) passed peacefully from this early life on December 4, 2018, in Stephenville, Texas. He was born in LaCasa, TX, on February 11, 1927, to Eula Lockett (Hawkins) and James Weldon Bradford. He was a veteran of Wold War II, having served in Italy during the war. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1947 as a Private First Class.
After his discharge from the service, James moved to McCamey, TX, where he met and married Peggy Geraldine Adams on June 4, 1949. He worked in the oil fields in and around McCamey until his retirement from Texaco in 1984. He and Peggy related to Lake Proctor after retiring. They enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, traveling with friends, and vacationing with family. They were members of Hasse Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents Addie and James W. Bradford, and Eula and Jess J. McDonald; beloved daughter Deborah Bradford Mathews; son-in-law Kenny Heath; brother M.L. "Red" Bradford; sister-in-law Evelyn Adams; father-in-law Walter Adams; and mother-in-law Virgie Adams.
Survivors included his wife of 69 years Peggy Bradford of Lake Proctor, TX; daughter Sharon Heath of Alvord, TX; daughter Joetta Smith and husband Sherman of Odessa, TX; grandchildren Justin Heath and wife Cassidee, Ashley Heath and Shayna Matthews; great grandchildren Rayven Manriquez, Draven Manriquez, Avary Heath and Kenneth Kole Heath; nephews Robert Adams and Patrick Adams.
