James Martin "Jim" Bucher

Services for James Martin “Jim” Bucher, 80, will be held on September 8, 2023, at 10AM. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Jim was born in Bay Shore, New York, on August 3, 1943, to parents Henry Martin Bucher and Opal (Rhodes) Bucher. Jim married Janee Miner on May 28, 1997, in Lovington, New Mexico. Jim was an Army veteran, serving during Vietnam. He worked as the president of a telephone company before AT&T split up. He enjoyed motorcycles as his hobby. Jim also served on the balloon crew and represented Western Telephone Co. at the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival.

Jim was a member of the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife, Janee Miner-Bucher; children, Jason Juan and wife Katie; Jennifer Zauber and husband, Aaron; Jared Bucher and wife, Emily; Jessica Bucher; Julie Solis and husband, Jamie; Sheena Shirley; Justin Bucher and wife, Myia; and Ashley White and husband, Josh; 26 grandchidren and 1 great-grandchild; brother, Leonard Bucher and wife, Barbara; sister, Betty McNair; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael Miner; Ed and Janene Griffith; Ronnie Miner; David and Rita Miner; and Laura Stillman.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Lee Bucher; sister-in-law, Julie Ann Bailey; and mother-in-law, Shirley Jane Miner.
