Jenny Brown (Horton) Johnson

Jenny Brown (Horton) Johnson, 79, of Bluff Dale, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Glenn Cemetery in Tolar, Texas, with Ed Dittfurth officiating.

Jenny was born on December 23, 1946, in Stanford, Kentucky, to Frank Horton Sr. and Sara Alice (Scott) Horton. 

Until her retirement, Jenny served as an administrative assistant for the Lincoln County Health Department in Stanford, KY. After retiring, Jenny pursued her true calling as a teacher's assistant at Crab Orchard Elementary. (She absolutely loved kids.) She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, crocheting, and Words with friends. She cherished time spent with friends and family, making homemade pies, and listening to the birds and windchimes from her front porch.

She is survived by her children, Robbie Brown and wife, Patricia, of Pensacola, FL, Renee Thompson and husband, Randy, of Bluff Dale, TX, and Andrew Johnson of Bluff Dale, TX. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Kim Hill and husband, Jesse, of Dover, AR, and Alvin Johnson and wife, Sarah, of Hamilton, TX; her sister, Eleanor Sims and husband, Duval, of Stanford, KY; her brother, Frank Horton Jr., and wife, Cathy, of Stanford, KY; grandchildren, Christian Brown and wife, Destiny, Nova Brown, Seth Brown, Tanner Thompson and wife, Amanda, Tayler Thompson and wife, Rehme, Tashli Wilson and husband, Jason, Scott Joseph and wife, Kenzie, Gage Joseph, Samantha Ivison, and Harlon Johnson; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sara Alice Horton, her husband, Robert Johnson, Jr., a sister, Alice Horton Gonyer, and her stepson, Daryl Johnson.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, loved her, and cherished their time together.
