John Henry Hoelter

Services for John Henry Hoelter, 84, Architectural Engineer, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

John was born in Granite City, Illinois, on December 21, 1940, to Lawrence and Evelyn (Tappel) Hoelter.

John loved fishing, hunting, nature walking, camping, and rebuilding and working on churches. John worked as the Project Manager on numerous construction projects. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran, Commander of the American Legion Post #499 in Gordon, Wisconsin, for 13 years, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Weatherford, Texas.

Survivors include his children, Johnny Lawrence Hoelter and wife, Sandy of Shiner, Texas, Julia Dawn Bishop and husband, Billy Jack, of Weatherford, Texas, Jill Michelle Hoelter of Weatherford, Texas, and Jason Avery Hoelter of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Dustin Davis, Jordyn Barr, Brad Bishop, and Brian Bishop; great-grandchildren, Madyson, Brillee, Renee, Charlise, and Jaiden; and brothers, Jim Hoelter of Illinois, Gene Hoelter and wife, Diane, of Wisconsin, and Dean Hoelter and wife, Judy, of Texas. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Hoelter, and a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Bishop.
