Karen Kay Hanlin, age 85, of Stephenville, Texas, entered eternal rest on Monday, April 15, 2024. Her wishes were to be cremated with a private memorial service. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Karen was born in Oak Hill, West Virginia, on October 28, 1938, to parents, James Ray Nix and Helen Elizabeth Lucas. She married George Andrew Hanlin on January 1, 1960. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1995.
Karen proudly served, making her career right out of high school with the U.S. Department of Defense. In her spare time she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching engaging game shows, and bowling. Karen loved living the ranch life and making memories with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Kuntz and husband, Pete of Stephenville, Texas; granddaughter, Kristin Eiland and husband, Andrew of Stephenville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Abigail Eiland, Kaitlyn Eiland, and Addison Eiland of Stephenville, Texas; and brother, Ricky Nix of Oak Hill, West Virginia.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryan Kuntz; and her brother, James Nix.
