Lora Mae (Phelps) Weir

Lora Mae Weir, 84, was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Lora was born in Stephenville, TX on January 20, 1936 to Thomas Phelps, Sr. and Lena Elizabeth (Rector) Phelps. On December 2, 1977, she married Billy Ray Weir, Sr. and they continued to reside in Stephenville over the next 43 years where she was a member of Greens Creek United Methodist Church.

Lora was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Billy whom she absolutely adored. Lora loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them when she could. She loved to tell stories, as well as hear stories, about her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Lora loved growing flowers, birdwatching, and appreciated all kinds of wildlife. She was an avid doll
collector, a great cook and could out-fish almost anyone. She was strong, resilient and loved to help others. Although her body aged, her spirit never did. 

Lora will forever be remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends.  She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Weir, Sr. of Stephenville, Tx.; daughters, Nancy Borges of California and Lori Wilson Hayes and husband Kenneth of Splendora, TX; six Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and by her only son, Rocky Lynn Wilson. 

Stephenville - Private Graveside Services for Lora Mae Weir will be held at West End Cemetery.
