Mary D Martinez Obituary

Mary Dolores Dimas Martinez, 70, passed away on April 23, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1956, to Julian Dimas and Juanita Maldonado Dimas. Mary was raised in Lampasas, Texas, before moving to Stephenville with her family.

Mary dedicated 20 years of service as a secretary at Chamberlin Elementary, where she was known for her kindness and her ability to bring smiles to the faces of countless children.


On June 8, 1974, Mary married the love of her life, Jesse Martinez, in Lampasas, Texas. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and unwavering partnership. Their bond was admired by all who knew them.


Mary was a gifted cook, especially known for her homemade tortillas and empanadas, which she lovingly prepared for family and friends. She had a servant’s heart and always made sure those around her felt cared for and comfortable. She also had a deep passion for sewing and took great pride in creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces.


She is survived by her beloved husband, Jesse Martinez; her children, Amy Sutten and husband Richie of Stephenville, and Jesse “Jason” Martinez and wife Abigail of Dublin; her four grandchildren, Jordan Sutten, Henry Martinez, Oliver Martinez, and Milo Martinez; and her siblings, Patsy McNotish, Ruben Dimas and wife Helen, JoAnn Cagle, Emily Alvarez and husband Julio, Orlando Dimas and wife Jennifer, and Jackie Line and husband Mark. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.


Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Juanita Dimas, and her granddaughter, Chloe Sutten.


A visitation following a Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lacy Funeral Home.

A Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Stephenville, officiated by Father Hopkins. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.


Mary will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
