Mason Brooks Obituary

Services for Mason Wayne Brooks, 26, will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Duffau Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2022, at Lacy Funeral Home.

Mason was born in Clifton, Texas on August 4, 1995, to Sean Brooks and Juanice “Neci” Batey.

Mason was a Baptist by faith. He was a friend to everyone he came into contact with, and he never met a stranger. He had an infectious smile that lit up every room he walked into. He was the life of the party everywhere he went, and he touched lives everywhere. So many people have reached out to share all the ways that Mason touched their lives because that’s who he was. He always wanted to make sure that everyone knew they were cared for and that they had someone there for them. He would help whenever and wherever he could. Mason was such an incredibly amazing person and when he loved, he loved with his whole heart. Mason is so loved by so many people and his absence will leave a hole that can never be filled. He was an amazing father, son, boyfriend, friend, and coworker and there will never be another person who fills all those roles the way he did.

Mason is survived by a daughter, Madelyn Rae Brooks of Floydada, Texas; his fiancé, Karlene Stephens; father, Sean Brooks and wife Lori of Lingleville, Texas; mother, Neci Batey and fiancé Terry Oxley of Hico, Texas; sister, Haley Ward and husband Mark of Hamilton, Texas; brother, Brett Brooks of Longview, Texas; and sister, Lexi McMullen of Shreveport, Louisiana; maternal grandmother, Debra Culp of Bandera, Texas; maternal great grandmother, Margie Moore of Cleburne, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
