Peggy Sue Ashley

Services for Peggy Sue Ashley, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the First Baptist Church  Sheridan with Elvis Whaley & Allen Tengler officiating. Burial will follow at Cheetham Cemetery. Visitation will be held from  1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the First Baptist Church Sheridan. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Peggy was born in Ganado, Texas, on September 8, 1949, to Bufford Ashley, Sr. and Mildred (Wilson) Ashley. She was an accounting clerk for many years. Although Peggy was small in stature, she was huge in every other way. She loved and loved big! She was so much to so many. As a natural caregiver she filled in the gaps for us all. Peggy was fond of jewelry and handbags. She enjoyed fishing, reading, movies and gardening. Peg was competitive, however, the little chuckle and smirk was her only way of boasting.

Survivors include sisters Kathy Bujnoch and husband David of Hallettsville; Rocky Jahn and husband Johnny of Hallettsville; Nancy Cameron and husband Jimmy of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews.                      

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dodie Reed; and a brother, Bufford Ashley, Jr.
