Services for Phyllis Jean McMeekin, 81, housewife, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Payne officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Phyllis was born in Waco, Texas, on December 3, 1941, to Felix and Helen (Burt) Cowart. She married EW McMeekin on December 3, 1988, in Erath County, Texas.
She was a member of Westside Church of Christ. She loved gardening, roses & tulips, cooking, and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, EW McMeekin; daughters, Debbie McInroe and husband, David McInroe, Becky Willeford, Sherry Smith and husband, Allen Davis, and Teresa Webb; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and her pugs, Sophie and Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Helen Cowart, her sister, Jo Ann Everson, and her first husband, William Q. Adamson who died May 16, 1978.
