Richard Allen Houlton was born March 6, 1949 in Newark, Texas. He resided in Stephenville, Tx and went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2024. Rick was a long time welder. People who knew Rick knew that his greatest love was fishing. He also could be found in front of the TV watching westerns, his favorite was The Rifleman. He loved a really good steak, occasionally he would settle for salmon patties and pork and beans. He was a simple, laid back man that didn't require much from life; he just enjoyed what God had given him; his family. He wasn't perfect, but he was forgiven. He took pride in his appearance by dressing in matching attire sporting his suspenders, Cowboys Football attire and always had on his Calvin Klein cologne. The reason he did this was because he had a roving eye for any good looking woman. This was evident in his favorite song, "My Mamma was a Ho my Daddy was a Pimp". He loved his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his son Richard "Ricky" Hershel Houlton, and granddaughter Brandye Sha
'Maire East, and sister in-law Jodi Houlton. He is survived by his brother Grover Houlton, his former spouses Priscilla Darlene Lasley and their children, Carol Jury aka Sissy (Chris) of Stephenville, Vicki Burton aka Grasshopper (Randy Laird) of Stephenville, Shellie Miller and their children, Brittany Houlton aka Britt Brat of Keen, Brett Houlton aka Daddy's Little Man (Taylor) of Granbury, Brandon Houlton aka Pooter (Morgan Hastings) of Whitney, and his closest friend Brian Atcheson who he considered to be his "adopted son".
He has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The celebration of life is scheduled for February 10th from 12-3PM at Brian Atcheson house, 5703 N. Sunchase, Granbury, Texas 76048.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made on the Facebook Go Fund Me Page for burial assistance.
