Bob Carlton Johnson slipped into the arms of Jesus October 3rd, 2019. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Wood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Bob was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 16, 1933, to the late Henry and Leta Johnson. He married Sue Stephens on May 8, 2009, in Oklahoma.
Bob was born during The Great Depression and really felt the effect of the depression but went on to be a successful businessman. He proudly served in the Korean War as a Sargent in the United States Air Force. Bob was a firefighter for the city of El Paso, and later he was a builder and developer in Burleson, Texas. Bob served in many capacities in the Burleson, Texas, area including the City Council, Mayor ProTem, and the banking industry for many years.
Bob was a member of Edna Hill Baptist Church.
Bob is survived by his adoring wife, Sue Johnson; daughters, Dusti Bradford and fiancé, Miguel Mirabel, Lisa Haynes and husband, Sheldon, and Natalie Kunkel and wife, Nancy; sons, Robert Johnson and wife, Sandra, Dennis Sumrak and wife, Debbie, Robi Kunkel and wife, Tracy, and Brady Sumrak; grandchildren, Bianca Johnson, Robert Johnson Jr., Mateo Johnson, Leslee Lowe, Jesse Kunkel, and Kittie Kunkel; brother, Milton Johnson; sister, Mary Margaret Beverberg and husband, Richard; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Johnson.
Bob loved each and every member of the Encompass Home Health and Alpha Omega Hospice teams for the special care and love given him. They were considered family.
If you ever met Bob, you remembered feeling loved and knowing Jesus. Thank you, Bob, for loving your family and for being our hero again and again.
