Services for Stephen Allen Douglas, 76, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 24, 2022, at The Erath County Cowboy Church with Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Stephen was born in Charleston, Illinois on August 10, 1945 to Harold and Arlene (Rhoden) Douglas.
Stephen proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He lived a very colorful life. In his younger years, he was a stock contractor. He later owned and operated a dirt company. I believe one of his greatest loves was being a world champion, record holding drag boat racer.
Stephen is survived by a son, Scott Douglas and wife Elizabeth of Desdemona, TX; and a daughter, Dawn Hayworth; 8 grandchildren, Tyler Douglas, Tawnee Foglesong, Amber Hayworth, Aubrey Hayworth, Alexa Hayworth, Ashtyn Beyer, Jayme Duckett, and Chris Rhodes; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Jim Douglas.
