Susan Campbell Obituary

Susan Hubbard Campbell, 64, passed away on January 21, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel.

Susan was born on October 12, 1955 in Ranger, Texas.  She grew up in Stephenville, Texas and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1973.  She was incredibly intelligent and cared deeply for others.  Those gifts lead her to obtain her BSN from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she would later be a nurse in Austin and Dallas for many years.  In 1980, she met Casey Campbell; he was the sun to her moon.  They completed each other beautifully and after only two months of dating, Susan forwent tradition and boldly asked Casey to marry her!  They were married for 37 years.  During those years, two daughters were born.  Courtney Marie was born in March of 1984, and a second daughter Caitlin Anne was born nearly 6 years later in February of 1990.

Susan was an avid reader and seemed to absorb knowledge.  Many friends have stated she was unbeatable when playing any trivia game and that she was the smartest person they knew.  She knew the lyrics to every Neil Young and Elton John song by heart and could be caught humming those and many other classic rock songs often.  Susan was a fierce friend; her loyalty knew no depths.  She possessed a tender and loving heart, and she was beloved by all who knew her.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  Her family was her pride and joy.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband, Casey Campbell, her mother, Mary Jane Hubbard, her father, Norman Hubbard.

She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Campbell and husband Chris of Abilene, and her second daughter, Caitlin Campbell of San Angelo.
